Most Sri Lankan Tamil migrants came to Australia in the 1980s. They were largely well educated, and very quickly, they settled well financially and established families. This film addresses an issue faced by their children, who are now young adults. They are equally successful in having a good education, job, etc. However, their family and social values are different from their parents, because they grew up in a conflicted backdrop. At home, they have to behave like Sri Lankans to appease their parents, and outside the home, they grow just like any Aussie kid. The film touches on this conflict, and show how the parents and the young adults formulate their own families, blend SL and Oz cultures as well as career and personal lives. Adjustments have to be made by the parents as well as young adults. The film clearly communicates this to the audience.
