Lakshman has been rather busy, in his later years – publishing. His latest attempt is the following.

My daughter Queenie, who is a Consultant Anaesthetist, at the Base Hospital, Avissawella, Sri Lanka says that there was an urgent need, for a ready reference book of this nature, in the Primary care and Intensive care units. This was because of the present habit of doctors, prescribing a plethora of drugs, especially for the elderly. I endorse this view.

Organiser and volunteer, annual free medical camps to Fiji, since 2006; Volunteer teacher and clinician, Neurosurgery Unit, Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences, Bangalore, India, 2007-2011; Volunteer, medical camps in Sri Lanka after tsunami, 2005; Teacher, Human Values Program, over 20 years; Scripture Teacher.

Recalling younger days

The cartoon by Collette in the Daily News, after the Law-Medical match in 1960, when our batch as 'block juniors' raided the Nurses Training School Hostel. All became very respectable Adults later in life.
