Hello Batchmates,
Sujiva just gave me the shocking news that Daya Rodrigo had passed away suddenly last night.
I understand he had had a bypass some years ago and was apparently fit.

Buddy
I rang up Daya's telephone number in Colombo. A person who identified himself as Daya's Nephew confirmed the news. He told me that Daya was admitted to Asiri Hospital earlier, was admitted to the Intensive care unit there, and got a cardiac arrest there.

Hi Philip

Daya Rodrigo, Nalini’s husband died yesterday after being ill for a week. They were about to come to Melbourne in a few days time!
Very sad.

Thanks Karals for sharing the sad news of the death of Daya another very sincere and a  helpful colleague.

This must be very upsetting news to his beloved wife Nalini and his family in addition to all his colleagues & friends.

Daya always accompanied Nalini for most of the social activities and was always happy and sociable.

We can only offer our deepest sympathies to Nalini & his surviving family.

Please convey our deepest sympathies to Nalini & the family.

May he rest in Peace.
