Dear Buddy
I wrote some notes of Appreciation of our dear departed friend and emailed to Philip to be posted on our batch 'blog site' as I did not know how to do it. The messages were unable to send.

Carlyle Perera
Loss of our dear friend Carlyle has not only left his batchmates here grief stricken but is also a great loss to the community of Sri Lankan Doctors here.Carl was the ultimate Leader/Psychiatrist who took on many challenging roles and performed them superbly. He was the Chief Psychiatrist for Victoria state for many years ,(one of / if not) the best and held in high esteem. He was always firm but compassionate and very empathetic and well loved by his patients who knew they could rely on him at any time of day or night. He was devoted to his family and work, working up to the last days until his body gave up. Socially he played an active role in organizing Sri Lankan Doctors' Social occasions like the Annual Doctors' Dinner Dance and his home was a great meeting place for all of us batchmates periodically when both he and his wife Megan entertained us lavishly.
Personally I am very grateful to him for enabling us to migrate to this beautiful, rugged country when we decided to leave our Motherland reluctantly. He leaves a large gap in all our hearts.
May he rest in Peace.
