Please share with our batch mates.

You may already be aware about the sad news of the death of Sarath Samarasiri, who passed away peacefully.

The funeral services are on 28th at Kanatta.

Sarath has been a very loyal colleague who was always helpful, sincere and cheerful.

He is survived by his beloved wife Nelun and his son Supem.

Our deepest sympathies.

We can only share our sincere thoughts at this time of the great loss and grief.

This  is  just to let  you  know ,  that  I  received  the sad  news 

of  Sarath  Samarasiri  passing  away  this  morning.

Apparently  he  has  had   a ? cardiac  arrest   suddenly.

He  was  making  a  slow  recovery  from  a  CVA    about  2  years  back.

Philip   ,, pl  can you   put  it  on  the  blog..

Dear Assa I am aware of the ongoing extra workload for the organisers. I get the impression that some may not be keen to have a group photo as it may appear extra work load and possible extra costs. We have always had a group photo and it would be a nice souvenir for those who can reflect and look back with some nostalgia.  As such, it is nice to plan ahead. May I suggest a way forward.  We could approach a local photographer who you may be able to negotiate  a package where he could cover some of the activities of the day including the group photo and make a reasonable profit as well. You could negotiate a deal with him to have a ‘photo booth’ to enable him to take photos of individuals/families/friendly groups which can be priced reasonable to be purchased  by those interested. Some of the events captured could be included in a CD which could also be purchased at a reasonable cost.  Some of these could also be added onto our web pages to share with those  who could not attend the event. Depending on the potential sales, the photographer may even offer  a reasonable contribution to the organisers for allowing him to have a photo booth on the day. What we need is to provide a table near the entrance for his business. The organisers will not have any other  added responsibility. Nana

Calling  for  Written Articles  to be  published  in  the  Souvenir -  58^th Anniversary  Re Union 2018

This  notice  is  intended  to  reach all   batchmates  whose e mail  addresses  are  known to  us ,   irrespective  of  whether ,  they intend   to  attend  the   Re Union    on  7^th July 2018   or  not.

We  would  like  to let  you  know  that  a  decision  to  print   a  Souvenir , for   the  58^th  Anniversary   Re - Union   has  been  taken.  

The  primary reason for  printing  the Souvenir ,  is  to  find   funds  ,  by selling  pages   to  advertisers.

Financial  constraints  limit us  to  print   a  12  leaf  document , in  black  and  white  only.  Colour  prints  cost  a  lot  more.

We are  sure  that  there  will be  some  space available  to  include  a  few written  articles in the  Souvenir  from  our  batchmates.    Hence we  request you  to  write  , on  any  subject connected  with  the life   of  the  medical  student  days. .  

We  will  endeavour  to  include  all articles   that  we  receive , but  you will understand that  the   first preference  is  to   the  advertisements.  

The  articles  should  be   limited  to a maximum  of  one page   of  A4   size with  a  margin  of  1”  all  round ,  which  makes it  easy   to  handle.

Dear  Batchmates.

There  had  been  several  complaints  fro  our  Batch  mates  ,  of   non  receipt  of  the  attachment  sent  by  me   in  the  previous   mail.

The  attachment  is  concerned  with  the  Proedure  to  follow   in  Reserving  Hotel  Rooms.

We  are  happy  to announce  that  the  Batch Re Union  , will  take  place  on the  7^th  July 2018 , as scheduled.

Due  to  unforeseen  circumstances , we  had  to  change  the   Venue  to  JET WING LAGOON , NEGOMBO.       Sorry   !

Following  is a description of  the  methods  available  for  you  to reserve  Hotel Rooms  and  making  payments  for  same.

Before 14 days from date of arrival - 100% of the value of the booking will be charged by the hotel
      Before 21 days from date of arrival - 50% of the value of the booking  will be charged by the hotel and balance 50% will be refunded to the customer.
      Before 28 days from date of arrival - 25% of the value of the booking  will be charged by the hotel and balance 75% will be refunded to the customer.
