email from Malin Weeraratna few years back
'You mentioned that you were Stella’s H.O. at Ridgeway. I must surely have come across you, as Kamalika was A F S Perera’s H O and I was at LRH from 1964 till the end of 1968, first as MO OPD and then as SHO in surgery/ENT with Dr Sandrasagara. I cannot put your face and name together, at this time, however.Incidentally, Kamalika’s twin sisters were also in the women’s cricket team, referred as the Abeyagunawardene twins, Ceylon’s answers to the Bedsers. They however, made their mark in tennis, and were international players, representing Ceylon abroad, and were No. 1 and 2 seed for many years in the ’50 s and 60’s.They, being US educated, migrated here shortly after us, and worked for NASA for many years, till recent retirement/ One of them succumbed to multiple myeloma, a few years ago, like my friend Ganesh C, who was also a friend of their’s, being in the same field of physics'.Malin..
