Hi Philippo,
Met up with Lambert for the first time after qualifying - half a century ago! We spoke as if time had stood still since then. He has virtually given up surgery and is nearly full time on to Stem Cell Therapy.
I don’t know what happens to the batch blog link. It keeps disappearing from my appliances. Please send it to me.
Das’ room mate at the Bloem contacted me. Could you please send the appreciation I wrote in the blog?
Grandchildren duties give me no tine for loafing. Must get away soon.
Best wishes to all.

Geri.

MEMORIES - ENJOY - SHARE - SAVE
CT Fernando. Could keep a party swinging. Even today some are a must at parties. Mostly his own  original songs created with help occasionally.
The mix with the west is difficult to detect.
More important, here is a huge collection of black/ white photos and videos from the past.1 hour. A store house.
We oldies get nostalgic.

the first link is to his first song of 1947 with Pushpa Perera ; pin sidu wane aney baala lamunne’

He was a chorister in his local parish church, and later became the choir master of A.R.P. Messenger service in colombo between 1942 to 1965.
He later joined the Grand Cabaret to entertain the troops and further developed his musical talents.
In 1946 after a successful audition, he was accepted as a singer in the Radio Ceylon.
During the latter part of the 1946, he recorded 'Pinsiduwanne' which became a popular hit.

Lambert's comments to the above posting in our batch blog:-
CT'S songs are Golden oldies!!!. His songs carry a message or a story, every one of them. Very pleasing to listen to and most of his songs are a hit at. Sri. Lankan parties and musical events. Bilinda nalawe ukule is one one of my favorites. I enjoy playing them on my Sax. I was six years old when he recorded his first song (1946)!! on CT Fernando, Singer, Sri Lanka.
I met Lambert post MBBS in a cinema Hall - Regal - in Kandy in the 1970s. He had obtained his FRCS in the UK  and he said he had emigrated to the USA where he was practising Surgery. No contact after that.
