Dear  Nana.

Thank you for  your suggestions  and  encouragements.

I am  glad  to  inform you  that   a  decision was  taken  to go  ahead  and  arrange  to  take  a  Group  Photograph.

The  Photographer  will  quote  a  minimum  payment for  his  services.

We  will charge  Rs   1000/-   per  copy .

We  do not  know  how many  copies will get  sold.    If  there is  a  shortfall  between  the   money  collected  from the  sale ,  and  the  minimum   payment  required  by  the  photographer  , we  will   bridge  the  gap  from  our  funds.

Implementation  of  this  plan  will  necessarily  involve  a  lot  of  work

As  the  prime  mover  of  the  project  ,I  would  like      you  to   handle  it  and  take  responsibility  to  insert  names  of  the  participants  and  collect   money  in  the  sale  of  copies..

I  am  sure  Udula.Pathirana  will  give  a helping  hand.

Dear  all.

Two of  us  ( Jayalath  and  me )    wanted  to  have  a few  Kandyan  Dancers    ,  to  conduct  the  participants  to the  venue  of  the  Dinner  and  Dance.

This  is  a  short  event.

They  will also perform  one  or  two  traditional  dances    each  taking  about  5  minits

The  charge  is  Rs  25000.00   for  the  event.

There  are  some  objections   to  this  plan.

I am so pleased to hear that K.P. Is willing to attend the reunion and that you would be able to offer any assistance required for his attendance.( KP needs some physical assistance but he is mentally alert and communicative)

I am pleased to note that you are planning to leave UK on the 22nd June and would be moving over to Jet Wing Lagoon Hotel in Negombo from 6th July.

Dear  Assa   and  jayalath.

My  views  are  as  follows.

Group  Photograph..   

   1.  It  will  be  a  waste  of  sponsored  money  to issue  free copies  of  the group  photograph  to  each and every participant. 

     We  will have  to  negotiate  with  the  photographer  , what   we  need to pay  him  to  take the   group   photograph,    If    reasonable  , we    pay  ,  Otherwise   we  will  cancel  the  projec

We  cannot be  sure of  the  number  of copies  that  will be  bought  by our  colleagues

I can  send  out  a  flyer.   How  many will   respond  will be  the  question.

If  we  go  ahead   with   taking  the  photograph  , the  time suggested by you  will clash  with  the  Meeting  we  propse to  conduct  .. that   is  at  11.00  am.

8" x 12" lamiated with names and title - 500/- each

10" x 15" laminated with  names and title - 750/- each

Photo to be taken before 10.30 a.m. and copies to be delivered by 3.00 p.m.

what do you think? would it not be best to sent a masil to all attendees and ask how many want a copy?

At the same tie you could also ask about ground floor preference and  anyone needing driver accommodation 

Still waiting for a firm reply about the music group /DJ expecting a call from Niranja today

Burns unit for the Jaffna Teaching Hospital

Int: Med Heath Org: ( IMHO) is a group od Docs, A/Cs, Lawyers etc; in USA, PURELY Voluntary, without any over head costs( except- may be for some expenses like money transfers. Have 'offices' all over the world with many with Tax Exempt status. They help & aid/ raise funds-  Not only in SL & other countries too.

The Burn Unit will need renovation of an old Space, equipping like an ICU style & other Stuff. Staffing & training in SL or India so on so forth. Prolonged Plastic surgery Care. All help is welcome. This will be the Only one at present in N&E.  I would  think in a Teaching Hospital is essential- it has advanced a lot- I would think there will be a lot of burn victims, children & adults in these areas.

At  the  request  of  Jey   ( Gunsie )  ,  I  am  circulating   this  note  to  all.

At  Derryck's suggestion , please kindly, circulate among our Batch mates, the dire need for A Burn Unit for Jaffna Hospital. The death of a 37 yr old young man with a family who was trying install a Propane tank for his Stove. In N&E no Burn units. & couLd not be transported to Colombo or Kandy, who died within 2 days at Jaffna TEACHING Hospital. May be they will think about it, as they prepare to come to our Reunion OR while at home.
