It is with
much sadness that we announce the demise today of Professor Carlo Fonseka at
the age of 86 years.
He was a
renowned Academic, Professor Emeritus of Physiology, Faculty of Medicine,
Colombo, Former Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya and
Former President of the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC).
There will
not be a formal funeral as his body was handed over to the Ragama Medical
Faculty as per his wishes.
May he
attain the supreme bliss of nibbana!
